Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery to ensure maximum performance, reliability, and safety. The role involves working on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, electrical components, and other mechanical systems used in construction and industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults on heavy equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Repair and overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, braking, steering, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
• Carry out emergency repairs both in the workshop and on-site when required.
• Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot equipment.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair construction or industrial machinery.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Technical certification in mechanics is an advantage.
• Valid driving licence is preferred.
