Sous Chef
Job Description:
Our client, a modern Mediterranean restaurant in Malta, is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day kitchen operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Mediterranean dishes, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and excellent service standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in all kitchen operations and service execution.
- Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team during service.
- Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
- Assist with menu execution, development, and daily specials.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency across all sections.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and proper ingredient storage.
- Maintain strict compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.
- Train and support junior kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards.
- Ensure smooth kitchen workflow and effective communication between sections.
- Step in for the Head Chef when required.
Requirements
- Must be residing in Malta.
- Must be residing in Malta.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie, ideally within Mediterranean cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and service flow.
- Passion for Mediterranean cuisine and fresh ingredients.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency.
