Job Description:

Our client is a leading Malta-based furniture and joinery manufacturer, known for producing high-quality, stylish furniture and interior fittings. They are committed to craftsmanship, precision, and finishing excellence, and are now seeking a skilled Sprayer / Finishing Technician to join their production team.

Position Overview

The Sprayer will be responsible for applying finishes such as paint, lacquer, stain, wax, and glue to furniture and door components, ensuring a smooth, professional finish. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in spray finishing, glue application, and surface preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for finishing: sanding, cleaning, and masking furniture or door components.

  • Apply finishes (spray paint, lacquer, stain, wax) evenly and consistently using spray guns or other finishing tools.

  • Spray glue accurately on doors and furniture components as required.

  • Mix, match, and adjust coatings according to specifications.

  • Ensure surfaces are smooth, defect-free, and meet quality standards.

  • Operate and maintain spraying equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Conduct quality inspections and touch up surfaces as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized spray booth and workshop.

  • Collaborate with the production and assembly teams to ensure timely project completion.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a sprayer, painter, or finishing technician in furniture manufacturing or woodworking.

  • Skilled in surface preparation, spray application, and finishing techniques.

  • Experience with spraying glue on doors or similar components.

  • Knowledge of different coatings, stains, lacquers, waxes, and adhesives.

  • Ability to identify and correct imperfections to ensure a high-quality finish.

  • Physically fit and capable of handling materials safely.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Good teamwork, time management, and communication skills.

  • English fluency (Maltese considered an asset).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in finishing high-end or custom furniture.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and handling of finishing chemicals and adhesives.

  • Ability to operate and maintain spray booth machinery.
