Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and food preparation

  • Supervise and support kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation

  • Oversee daily food production to meet high standards

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment, ensuring equipment and utensils are in good working condition

  • Monitor inventory levels, including ordering and restocking ingredients and supplies

  • Assist in menu planning and development, including testing new recipes and dishes

  • Adhere strictly to Food Hygiene standards and the Site Allergen Procedure

  • Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices

  • Handle food quality or kitchen operation issues, escalating to the Head Chef when necessary

  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff for smooth service and timely dish delivery

  • Support Head Chef in managing kitchen costs and maintaining budgetary controls

  • Cover for the Head Chef in their absence, taking responsibility for kitchen operations and staff management

  • Complete required online training within two weeks of start date

Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience in Mediterranean cuisine

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills

  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
