Job Description:
Our client, a leading award-winning winery, is seeking an engaging, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Wine Sales Specialist to join their team. This role is centered around creating a welcoming and educational experience for customers in the horeca sector helping them discover wines, understand flavor profiles, and select the perfect offerings for their outlets.
The ideal candidate has a strong passion for wine, excellent communication skills, and thrives in a business-facing horeca environment. You will enjoy building relationships, sharing product knowledge, and guiding customers through a diverse and ever-changing wine selection.
This position plays a vital role in maintaining the clients long-standing reputation for excellence, expertise, and service. You will work closely with outlet beverage departments and management teams to enhance the in-house experience, drive wine sales, and represent high standards of product knowledge and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities

Engage with customers, offering friendly and knowledgeable recommendations based on taste, food pairings, and customer needs.

Build relationships with both new and regular customers, fostering trust and loyalty through outstanding service.

Educate customers on wine varietals, vintages, trends, and local products in an approachable and engaging way.

Upsell and cross-sell wines, accessories, and related items.

Support department goals by achieving sales targets and promoting featured or seasonal products.
Merchandising & Store Presentation

Maintain attractive and organized wine displays that reflect the clients visual and brand standards.

Assist with seasonal resets, special features, and promotional displays to drive customer interest.
Product Knowledge & Education

Stay up to date on current wine trends and industry developments.

Participate in tastings, trainings, and visits to continuously enhance knowledge.

Share product insights with team members to elevate overall winery expertise.
Operations & Support

Assist in the setup of wine events and festivals.

Support team members during wine events and tastings.

Provide feedback on customer preferences and product opportunities to department leadership.
Qualifications & Skills

WSET Level 3 Diploma is an advantage.

Strong passion for wine and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge with customers.

Prior experience in wine sales, hospitality, or customer service preferred.

Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.

Professional demeanor with the ability to engage customers of all experience levels.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Basic understanding of wine regions, varietals, and pairings (formal training a plus).

Working hours: Monday to Friday 10:0019:00, plus occasional weekends.
