Our client, a leading hospitality and leisure operator in Malta, manages top hotels and a variety of restaurants, providing exceptional guest experiences through a focus on quality and innovation.

The Role
We are currently seeking an Accounts Manager to support the finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, overseeing accounts operations, and supporting the finance department in maintaining accurate and compliant financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management statements for company financial review.

  • Generate daily revenue reports and manage bank deposits.

  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with Department Heads and Chief Financial Officer.

  • Prepare cash flow and other financial reports as requested by Senior Management.

  • Submit accurate and timely VAT returns.

  • Analyze financial data for projects and business opportunities.

  • Maintain strong internal financial controls.

  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors during statutory audits.

  • Support accounts staff with cash settlements and accounts receivable monitoring.

  • Monitor debtors and credit control, reporting to Senior Management.

  • Supervise finance team staff, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.

  • Develop and implement finance policies and procedures with Senior Management.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to finance processes and systems.

  • Train and develop accounting staff as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three years experience in accounting or finance, preferably with management experience.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and VAT compliance.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.

  • Experience with audits and internal controls.
